LO STILEGli Sticky Bones si propongono di portare
il pubblico a ritroso nel tempo e di ridare quella dimensione low-fi al jazz, riportando l'orecchio del pubblico alle origini, spesso ignorate. Look, sound e repertorio fanno degli Sticky Bones una perfetta fotografia, rigorosamente in bianco e nero, di quanto si poteva vedere e sentire in quell'America di inizio secolo, scossa da quel terremoto che negli anni a venire si sarebbe chiamato Jazz. |
LE INFLUENZEEarly Jazz, Classic Blues, American
Roots, Hokum Songs, Barrelhouse, Stomps, Stride, Boogie Woogie, Vaudeville. Sono tutti stili a cui gli Sticky Bones si ispirano e che ne caratterizzano il sound. Un suono sporco, ruvido, lo stesso che si poteva sentire a tarda notte fuori nelle Barrelhouse, nei bordelli, nei juke joint o negli spettacoli di vaudeville durante gli anni venti e trenta. |

the CD "Some of These Days" and it is really good. There is a great selection of tracks from the early years, including " Bill Bailey - Won't You Please Come Home". I remember my Grandfather singing this, when I was about 5 years old ! There is a very good comparison with another of my favourites, Caro Emerald.
